This is where two options at the same monthly fee stop being comparable. Ask about each one before you sign.

Add them up before comparing. A $600 centre with a registration fee, materials, a paper bundle and a September intensive lands around $7,700 for the year. A $700 option with everything included lands at $7,700 too. The headline rate told you nothing.

Is tuition at this price worth it?

A fair question and the answer is not always yes.

Probably worth it

Your child is at AL4–AL6, the gap is identifiable, and the school is not going to close it in class of 35.

Probably not

Your child is already at AL1 in that subject. You are buying reassurance, and the money does more elsewhere.

One specific concept is broken. An hour a week of private tuition for two months fixes it for a fraction of a year's fees.

The issue is attention, sleep or anxiety rather than content. More hours will make it worse, not better.

What a crash course costs, and where it sits

A crash course costs more per hour than weekly group tuition, and it should. A weekly class gives a child one paper every seven days. A crash course gives 37 papers in six weeks, each one marked before the lesson so the teaching goes straight at what they got wrong. The compression is the product.
